Story
Why am I fundraising?
Did you know the police in England and Wales receive 100 calls every hour relating domestic abuse? (HMIC, 2015)
With three women being killed a fortnight by a current or ex-partner, so much needs to change before women are safe. This is why I am taking on this fundraiser to raise vital funds and awareness for survivors of domestic abuse, but I need your help.
Our play will be performed at The River Side Studios from February 13th to February 18th. Written by Giulietta Tisminetzky with Music by Laura Reznek, the play aims of sparking conversations about abuse. I have written a play with the aim of exploring the concept of consent. What determines a woman's freedom when it confronts a man's desire?
I wrote this play before the events that took place in Italy in recent months, but it was the energy, anger, and strength of women that inspired me to believe that it is imperative to address the issue of violence against women, in all its subtle nuances, and how us women carry these stories, these wounds, within us. As part of this fundraiser we are hosting a free self defence class in collaboration with City Lit. Join us! It runs on Saturday 17th at 2pm at River Side Studios.
The play:
A tropical rollercoaster of love, sex and margaritas. A birthday that turns her world upside down. From the golden shores of Costa Rica to the depths of her past, in this journey through paradise, surfboards and salsa nights collide with the raw truths of female sexuality.

It's essential to bring such topics into the spotlight and encourage dialogue that can lead to positive change, one that is safe for women.
Thank you for your support.
