Story
A team from Hacking & Paterson Management Services are taking part in the Relay HYROX event in Glasgow this March to raise funds for Early Years Scotland.
The relay race involves splitting a demanding course of running and functional fitness workouts between the team. These include challenging stations such as sled pushes and pulls, rowing, burpee broad jumps, farmer’s carries, and wall balls, with each team member completing different sections and working together towards the final finish time.
They’ve been training hard and are looking forward to pushing themselves on the day while supporting each other as a team.
Any donation, big or small, would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for your support, and please wish the team the very best of luck! 💙💪
About Early Years Scotland
The first years of a child’s life are the most important. In that short window, children learn how to communicate, how to trust, how to play, how to cope with the world — and everything they learn lays the foundation for the rest of their lives.
For some children, those early years are full of challenges: poverty, homelessness, parental imprisonment, trauma, or additional support needs. Without support, children can be left behind before they’ve even started.
Early Years Scotland works with children and families across Scotland to make sure every child gets the start they deserve. By supporting families and the people who care for them, they create safe, nurturing spaces where children can grow in confidence, curiosity, resilience and emotional strength, and begin to build the foundations for learning, relationships and life itself.
Take Maya, for example. She had moved house four times before she turned three and was living in cramped, temporary accommodation. She struggled to sleep, play or explore, and she often cried and held onto her mum, unsure of what was happening next. Then she joined Early Years Scotland’s Rise & Shine project. For the first time in weeks, her mum said she had a proper night’s sleep. Maya found a calm place to play, laugh, and learn —and slowly began to trust the adults around her and make her first friends.
Because every child deserves the best possible start in life.
Early support changes lives — thank you for being part of it.
