Story

Welcome to the group fundraising page for the ‘Hexham Priory School £24k in 24 Hours Challenge’

The event will take place on Thursday June 25th, starting at 10:30am and will see our Head of Pastoral Services, Sarah Dodd, run and walk alternate laps of the athletics track at the Wentworth Leisure Centre Hexham, for a continuous 24-hour period!

Sarah will be joined by Pupils, Staff, Parents, Local Businesses, Individuals, Sports Groups, Clubs and supporters of the school who will all run / walk with her throughout the 24 hour period. Together we hope to reach our target of £24,000 in 24 Hours.

The fundraiser, in aid of The Friends of Hexham Priory School Charity, will enable us to transform half of our current cookery room into a purpose-built apartment. This would enable our pupils to practice independent living skills in a safe and secure environment.

Hexham Priory School supports 130 young people aged between 3 – 19 from Northumberland, all of whom have severe and complex special needs. Our time and energy are spent on ensuring our pupils leave us with the very best communication and life skills, in order to survive and thrive as adults.

If we manage to exceed our fundraising target all additional money raised will go towards transforming two spaces in school into much needed sensory rooms.
