Story
When I read 'Do you want to abseil off the new building?' I immediately thought - OBVIOUSLY YES!!, and only during a conversation to get some colleagues to join me did I realise I really and truly hate heights. I get dizzy standing on a ladder to change a light bulb, but bravado outweighs that and I continued to sign up.
The thing is the hospital charity truly does remarkable things for the hospital and those in the local area that use it, and I want to know that if me or my friends ever needed to use those services that their stay would be as comfortable as possible. That those hard times are made a little more bearable because of the wonderful staff of course, but also because of the things the charity can do to help.
Having gone through some of the services at the hospital I want nothing more than to make sure that those that do pass through the services have something more than just basic resources. I want to know that when the outcomes aren't always the happy ones dreamed of, that there is someone there to support those going through that tough time.
So that's why i'm launching myself off the building, for those that can't. For those that need an extra boost when life isn't being kind to them and to make things a little nicer for those when they need it most.
I would appreciate anything you can give to support our wonderful local hospital to give those extra bits of kindness to those needing the services.
