Story
I am proud to be a trustee of Derbyshire Mind, and my connection to this cause is deeply personal.
I have lived with my own mental health challenges for many years, so I know first-hand how much difference it can make when someone offers a bit of compassion, understanding or simply reminds you that you are not on your own. My own journey has taught me a lot about hope, resilience and, perhaps most importantly, the importance of having people around you who help you find a way forward when things feel difficult.
That experience is a big part of why I am so committed to Derbyshire Mind and the work it does. I want to use my own experiences to help challenge the stigma around mental health, encourage people to have more open conversations and make sure that people know there is support available when they need it.
The Mental Elf Festive Fun Run is a brilliant example of that work in action. It is a bit of fun, but it also helps raise much-needed awareness and vital funds to support people across Derbyshire with their mental health.
If you are able to support my fundraising page, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, however big or small, helps Derbyshire Mind continue providing practical support, hope and a sense that nobody has to face difficult times alone.
Thank you for helping me support a cause that means a great deal to me.
