Hi, my name is Hudson, and I'm 8 years old.

On Wednesday 29th July, I am taking on my biggest challenge yet — playing 72 holes of golf in one day to raise money for Spread a Smile, a charity that means so much to me and my family.

Spread a Smile has been a huge part of our lives. They have supported my brother Kit and our family through difficult times, bringing joy, laughter, kindness and special memories when we needed them most. Their amazing team works tirelessly to bring smiles to children facing serious illness, disability and other challenges, helping families feel less alone during some of their toughest days in hosptial and at home.

Now I want to give something back.

I'll be starting early in the morning and playing round after round of golf throughout the day, pushing myself to complete 72 holes. Every step, swing and hole played will be dedicated to raising money so that Spread a Smile can continue supporting children and families like mine.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help provide:

Activities and experiences for children

Emotional wellbeing support

Special treats and memorable days out

Resources for children and families facing difficult circumstances

Spread a Smile brings joy and laughter to seriously ill children in NHS hospitals and hospices across the country.

Through in-person and virtual visits and events, Spread a Smile’s entertainers – from magicians to musicians, artists, fairies and therapy dogs - enhance wellbeing and help young patients and their families cope with the pain and anxiety of serious illness and hospitalisation, developing bespoke relationships with each family and each health setting, so that we can offer the most impactful support.
