Story
Hugh was a kind, caring man, a proud husband and father and a loving friend to many. Sadly, he unexpectedly passed away suddenly on the 28th August 2026. Hugh had a strong passion for his work, nature, playing and coaching football, friendship, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his wife and two children. His loss is felt deeply amongst so many people.
So that his family and friends have got a special place to remember Hugh, they welcome donations to The Wildlife Trusts purchase of the Rothbury Estate.
The Rothbury Estate, located in the heart of Northumberland, covers over 3,800 hectares, and is a breathtaking place, with sweeping landscapes and starlit skies. The Simonside Hills are located in this estate, and this is a place where Hugh loved to go for hikes, as well as visiting surrounding countryside. The Rothbury Estate is currently being sold, and The Wildlife Trusts, a charity that protects and restores nature across the UK, is aiming to fully buy the land in the hope of maintaining and protecting its beauty and character.
This is a cause that Hugh fully supported and spending time in the countryside is something he enjoyed his whole life. His family think it is the perfect charity for any donations to be given to.
All donations are eligible for a match funding scheme being run by The Wildlife Trusts and the family appreciates any donations given in memory of Hugh.
