1000 Km Challenge for Multiple Sclerosis

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Final update: Thank you very much to everyone who has helped me go well beyond my target for such a good cause. I achieved my 1000km challenge by running a half marathon in the 100th and final day before leaving Spain.

Multiple sclerosis affects some 150,000 people in the UK and 55,000 people in Spain. Since I started my job five years ago as British ambassador to Spain and Andorra, I’ve tried to raise awareness of the condition and support those affected.

Now, in my last 100 days in the job, I am trying to run (and occasionally walk) 1000km to raise much-needed funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, which does great work researching new treatments and supporting those affected. Please join me with a donation through JustGiving. I’m also raising funds in Spain for the Spanish MS charity: https://www.migranodearena.org/reto/1000km-por-la-esclerosis-multiple

Thank you for your support!!

I’ll be updating progress on my X and Instagram feeds as I go (@hughelliottuk) A few days in now, 1000km feels a long way!
