I am running the hackney half marathon for 'Homerton Hope', the charitable part of Homerton healthcare NHS foundation trust. I am doing this in memory of Dr Barney Wong a medical doctor who I worked alongside for some years at the Homerton.

Barney was a wonderful colleague who helped many patients, especially during the pandemic when he worked very long hours right at the heart of the hospital. Barney was also a strong support to other members of his team and junior colleagues; he was always there to help others.

I am running in Barney's memory as very sadly Barney took his own life in 2023. The money raised will go towards supporting junior members of the Homerton team with their health and wellbeing when they are struggling.
