The Deptford Ragged Trust, the charitable trust of The Bear Church, offers a place of refuge, learning, worship and community to people in South East London.

We have already raised £10m to knock down and rebuild our warn out building featuring 33 social and affordable flats for previously homeless young people. These are now finished and occupied!

We are now seeking a further £500k to finish off the fit out of the community space that:

Serves hundreds of parents, babies and toddlers 3 times a week at Bear Cubs

Sunday meals and community for the homeless and deprived of Deptford

English Language classes for refugees

Sunday services for the church...

And we plan more - Mentoring for Employment and life Skills, a Kitchen and Cafe to teach people to cook, serve the community and develop hospitality skills, Gallery space for artists, Yoga, table tennis, rehearsal space for bands, community events, film nights, panto...(!) ...

A true community hub - a Home in the Heart of Deptford.
