Story

Hi there,

My name is Hugh Train and I'm a professional horse rider and coach. Whilst showjumping in March 2022 I had a serious fall. I sustained several brain haemorrhages and immediately begun having a seizure.

The Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance team were the first medical responders on the scene.Their intervention stabilised me, allowing me to be taken to hospital where I began my recovery. I can confidently say that the charity played a huge role in me being alive and well today.

Each trip the air ambulance makes costs on average £3700. I will be running my first ultramarathon - the 100km 'Race to the King' - on the 15th of June 2024 to support the charity so that it can continue to offer the same service to others that it did to me.
