Hull Talk The Stroke with TEAM RUBY

Hull Talk The Stroke - With Team Ruby is raising money for Stroke Association
Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.

Each year Team Ruby takes on challenges in memory of their captains brother Mike to raise money for a cause that really matters.

This year (2026) they are supporting the Stroke Association, with a special focus on local stroke support group 'Hull Talk the Stroke' which offers friendly support to Stroke Survivors and anyone affected by Stroke.

Our 2026 challenge is dedicated to Mike as always but also to Steve Fenton, a much-loved father, friend and colleague whose compassion led to the creation of this amazing stroke group in Hull. His daughter Jenny Portas carries her dad’s legacy by continuing to grow the Hull Talk the Stroke support group. 💜

We’re proud to honour both Mike and Steve through this year’s journey, two incredible men who remind us what resilience, love and community really mean.

So here we go again 💪
