3 Peaks Challenge · 6 July 2024

Ocular melanoma is so rare and the prognosis often so overwhelming, that patients frequently report feeling totally isolated. We advocate for change by uniting stakeholders against ocular melanoma cancers so people receive the treatment, information and support they need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Engineering team at Norsk Hydro UK in Bedwas, South Wales will be attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge on 6th & 7th July 2024. This involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis 1345m), England (Scafell Pike 978m) and Wales (Yr Wyddfa, (Snowdon) 1085m), all within 24 hours.

You might ask why we would put ourselves through this. Apart from further strengthening the relationships within the team, we'll be raising money for a very worthy cause. We're supporting OcuMel UK, a charity helping people affected by ocular melanoma, an aggressive form of eye cancer. They're a small charity that really benefit from fund raising events such as this. So if you can, please donate what you can. It really will make a difference.

OcuMel supported a friend of one of the team a few years ago, extending and improving his last few years. Sadly, our friend lost his fight but without OcumMel, there wouldn't have been a fight.

Please give what you can to continue the fight against ocular melanoma. Thanks from the Engineering team at Hydro UK in Bedwas, South Wales.
