Story
I have witnessed my own father’s deteriorating sight & the difficulties that losing such a basic gift of life brings, things that the vast majority of us take for granted. It is only when it touches our lives that we understand how scary being visually impaired can be & emphasises a need for the kind of support that Berkshire Vision provide.
On Friday 10th July 2026, Trentham Bowling Club, and partners from the local community will be taking on an incredible Dodecathlon Challenge in aid of Berkshire Vision (kindly supported by Cotswold Leisure Centre in Tilehurst)
The challenge will see participants complete 12 different sports across 12 hours, alongside a full day of continuous bowling, all to help raise vital funds to support blind and visually impaired children and adults across Berkshire.
Throughout the day, participants will take part in activities including walking, boccia, darts, netball, football, cricket, line dancing, badminton, pickleball, basketball, boxercise and bowling. Whether taking part for one session or the full 12 hours, everyone involved will be helping to make a real difference.
Berkshire Vision supports people living with sight loss to build confidence, reduce isolation and access life-changing support, activities and services. Every donation raised through this event will help us continue providing that support to those who need it most.
