Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Back in September 2021, my brother Adam was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour after collapsing at my nephew's football match with a seizure. He received amazing care at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he had the tumour removed. Unfortunately, histology confirmed in late October 2021 that the tumour was highly malignant and Adam would need treatment. Adam commenced Radiotherapy Monday - Friday, in addition to oral chemotherapy every day of the week for 6 weeks. This phase finished on New Year's Eve 2021, and then he embarked on a further 6 cycles of Chemotherapy from January to June 2022 to minimise the risk of the tumour returning.

Adam’s MRI scans since his treatment have remained reassuringly positive with no evidence of anything returning. Adam has been so brave since the diagnosis and has remained positive when it would have been easier to crumble. This is in some part down to the brilliant work of Brain Tumour Support, which has provided Adam with someone to talk to, support groups to attend, and supported him with counselling.

I am privileged to run the London Marathon and to embark on the training journey, and most importantly, represent my brother, who is a huge advocate for the services that Brain Tumour Support offers and provides. As a family, we are grateful for donations to ensure this amazing charity continues to provide dedicated support to patients, families and carers.
