Story
On July 15th I'm celebrating (if that's the right word) my 60th birthday. I know, I know, I don't look a day over 59...
I'm having various birthday events, but what I don't want are presents, so I thought I'd do a fundraiser in aid of a good cause.
From my time in politics, and through my radio show, I know that there are thousands of children across the country who act as carers for their parents or siblings. I want to raise money to provide these kids with some happy memories.
The Holt Youth Project, not far from where John and I live in North Norfolk, provides support to over 60 young carers from across North Norfolk. Ages range between 6 and 17 with the majority still at primary schools. Holt Rotary raises funding to provide an annual 3 day break at the National Trust Brancaster Activity Centre on Norfolk's North Coast where a host of exciting adventures await.
So if you would like to wish me a happy birthday, please do make a donation of whatever you can afford. I will appreciate it, and so will the children who will benefit from it.
Many thanks,
Iain
