Story
I (Ian) am, possibly foolishly, doing the 26 mile South Downs Way Trek from just outside of Brighton to Eastbourne in May. I have walked parts of the route in the past, but never in one go. And I have completed a walking marathon before, but on the flat and prior to entering my 50s.
My eldest son, Tom (20), has kindly agreed to accompany me.
My brother in law, Andrew, is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, at the Royal Marsden, and my sister suggested I should do this to help support their work. Scroll down towards the bottom of this page to see Tom and Andrew in action...
The South Downs was our late father's favourite part of the world for walking. He died of cancer in 2018, so this cause is doubly personally very important to us.
By donating, you will be making a difference to cancer patients everywhere. We haven't set a specific target but anything you can donate, however small, will be very much appreciated. And please remember to gift aid it, if you are eligible.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. They ensure nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
