Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our daughter Edith arrived 7-weeks early, weighing just 2.2lbs. It was a worrying time, but we were incredibly lucky to have the outstanding team at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Royal Preston Hospital looking after her every step of the way.

Edith spent her first 7-weeks in NICU, where she received exceptional care and support from the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to give babies like her the best possible start in life. Thanks to them, Edith is now a happy, thriving 16-month-old — and we’ll be forever grateful.

To say thank you, and to support other families going through similar experiences, I’m running the Lake District Marathon in aid of Baby Beat — the charity that helps fund vital equipment, research, and support services for premature and poorly babies at Royal Preston Hospital.

All donations are truly appreciated, and every penny will go towards helping other babies get the best chance in those critical early days.
