Story
Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
On the evening of Friday the 8th of May, a dedicated team of Stuart, Emma and Simon will be embarking on an incredible challenge: running for 24 hours straight, finishing in Baildon village at 7pm on Saturday, 9th of May. Throughout the 24 hours, we’ll be covering various circuits across the Baildon, Saltaire, and Bingley areas.
This isn’t just a test of endurance — it’s a heartfelt mission to support a cause that means a great deal to us.
We’ve been training hard since January, and although it’s been rewarding, we know that what lies ahead will be the toughest challenge any of us have ever faced. But we’re committed to putting in the hard work. Now, we’re asking for your help with the easier part: donating whatever you can to support PAPYRUS Prevention of Suicide’s Emergency Appeal.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly support vital, life‑saving work.
If anyone would also like to support us on the day, whether by cheering us on, joining us for a stretch of the route, or just giving us a boost along the way, it would be gratefully received.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
So, who are Papyrus and who do they support?
For the first time in their 28-year history, PAPYRUS is launching an emergency appeal to keep HOPELINE247 running through the night. Every three minutes, a young person in distress reaches out for help during their darkest hours - often when other services aren’t available. Since extending HOPELINE247 to operate 24/7 last year, demand has surged dramatically. In just one year alone, there were over 12,000 life-saving interactions during nighttime hours.
HOPELINE247 is vital and life-saving; however, rising costs and a sharp drop in donations across the charity sector have brought them to a critical moment. We want to help ensure that no young person feels alone in their time of need.
Please consider donating towards our target of £1,000 to support this essential service. Your contribution can make all the difference in providing hope and saving lives.
Thank you for your support and donations from the bottom of our hearts.
