The Farming Community Network (FCN) is a charity and voluntary organisation that supports farmers and families within the farming community through difficult times, whether the issue is personal or business related. Our confidential national helpline is open every day of the year from 7am-11pm.

Story

On 1st September I’ll start my 🇫🇷 Alps cycling challenge.

I’ll be cycling 🚴 9 Cols / classic climbs over 6 days – Col de Semnoz, Col de la Madeleine, Col de la Forclaz de Montmin, Col de Tamié, Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier, and finally Alpe d’Huez.

This challenge is slightly different to my LEJOG and Caen to Nice rides as it’s shorter at 250 miles but it’s 9700m of elevation ⛰️ !

Following a few bereavements in 2024, I’d like to raise some valuable sponsorship in honour of my farming uncle Phil Meadley who passed away following a battle with cancer and colleague Jack Riddington.

Farming Community Network (FCN) is voluntary organisation & charity that supports farmers and families within the farming community.

Recently FCN has launched a new UK-wide partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support – which will help to improve the support available to those living with cancer in rural areas.

As part of this partnership FCN will be working closely with Macmillan Cancer Support, including raising awareness in rural communities of the signs and symptoms of cancer and building referral bridges to and from Macmillan’s services.

Farmers, farm workers and people living in rural communities can have lower access to cancer services and support due to the nature of their work and rural life in often isolated areas.

I’d really appreciate your support to raise valuable funds for FCN 😊 .
