Story
I am walking the 60 mile Glastonbury Water Way [https://britishpilgrimage.org/portfolio/glastonbury-water-way/] for The Melanesian Mission UK [MMUK] to fundraise for environmental projects.
Many communities in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu struggle to understand climate change and make plans for the future. MMUK’s Environment Observatories programme teaches communities the reasons behind, and the impact of, climate change and environmental degradation.
Simple equipment enables communities to record changes in rainfall, temperature and, on the coast, beach erosion. This empowering them to plan for the future and scientifically evidence changes to potentially access funds for adaptation projects.
