500 Miles before I'm 40 · 10 February 2026

CLAPA is the national UK charity supporting people affected by cleft lip and palate. We provide specialist feeding equipment, trusted information, one‑to‑one and online support, youth services, and community events, while raising awareness and championing better cleft care for all.

Story

Our son Sam was born with a cleft palate. The care and support provided by CLAPA, as well as the specially adapted bottles to help feed him in those early years, was invaluable.

I am challenging myself to walk 500 miles before I turn 40 on 11 February 2026.

Absolutely any donation at all is massively appreciated and will go towards helping this amazing charity continue their work by supporting families.

You can keep upto date with my journey on my social media pages for Sport Photography Scotland.

Three babies are born with a cleft lip and/or palate every day in the UK, and they face a 20-year treatment pathway which can continue well into adulthood. The Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) is here to make sure no one has to go through this alone.

Every donation will help CLAPA to continue to provide specialist, targeted services to give people affected by cleft the knowledge and emotional support they need, while their UK-wide community brings together people from all walks of life to share experiences and learn to cope.
