Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2026 · 10 May 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We are the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals. We support NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year. Donations fund life-saving equipment, treatments, research and home comforts. Whatever will make the biggest impact to the people who need it most.

Story

Hello, my name is Ian.

In March 2019, I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). We learnt very quickly that we all have our mountains to climb, it’s just easier when we do it together.

Inspired by the unwavering support of my friends and family, we are going to attempt our fourth and final Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon on 10th May 2026.

It’s difficult enough to run a marathon but our incredible friends are coming together again to take on pushing me and carrying all of my equipment around this really challenging marathon route. I know they will get me to the finish and we will once again create some very special moments.

We are fundraising for Leeds Hospitals Charity to support the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease—a state-of-the-art care centre that stands as a beacon of hope for everyone living with or affected by MND. This centre provides exceptional care and vital support to people with MND and their families, offering comfort, strength, and dignity during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Every penny raised directly helps families like ours who face the daily realities of this relentless disease. Your support will make a real difference in improving care, advancing research, and providing hope where it is needed most.

Together, we can bring hope, care, and strength to those battling MND. We would be so very grateful if you could join us in this vital cause by donating whatever you can to our fundraising efforts.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and kindness.

With love,

Ian, Rachael, Charley, Isea and Benjamin xxxxx
