at the beginning of this year ,while contemplating my up coming hernia operation I agreed to keep my old friend Richard company on his cycle ride from the top of the uk to the bottom, having turned 60 it was high time he realised his dream. I bought a cheap 1980's touring bicycle from eBay and set about making it work. by march I had recovered enough to dust off my old mountain bike and put miles into my legs they hadn't experienced for 30 years. We are carrying our camping gear and all we need with us to make some sense of this pointless exercise I've decided to take the opportunity to raise funds for a charity that helps my son, as well as many others who's disabilities make it challenging to get out and enjoy social events
