Story
Just over two years ago, I had an indolent insulinoma surgically removed, along with 30% of my pancreas having suffered dangerously low blood sugar levels for ~8 years. After enduring 55 staples across a 16-inch scar, one blood transfusion, and eight weeks in the hospital, I'm now better! To celebrate, I'm running the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run Half Marathon on October 5th, 2025, despite never having run more than 10k before!
Insulinomas are rare yet debilitating cancers that can significantly impact the lives of those affected. The Insulinoma Charity UK is dedicated to raising awareness and providing essential mental health support for sufferers.... and helped me so much for the 8 years I had the tumour.
