Ian's fundraiser for Stroke Association

Imagine the sudden upheaval when a stroke strikes, causing a part of the brain to shut down, and with it, a part of life. Recovery is an arduous journey, but the resilience of the human brain is remarkable.
Mum, Meryl, suffered a stroke at the young age of 52. The impact was significant, ending her career as a schoolteacher, and presenting her a whole host of new challenges in relearning some basic functions we take for granted, including walking, talking and writing. Over the last 30 years this hasn't gone away but the immediate care she received at hospital and the help of Stroke Association and other similar organisations and resources over the years, advice, help and assistance has ensured she made her best recovery . This assistance has always been greatly appreciated.
In 2020 Dad, Allan, also suffered a catastrophic stroke form which he sadly did not recover.
It's fair to say, Stroke has had an immense impact on our family life.
The Stroke Association stands as a beacon of hope, providing specialized support, conducting vital research, and advocating tirelessly for the stroke community. It is through the generosity and determination of supporters like you that we can continue to rebuild lives shattered by stroke. Together, with your donations and unwavering support, we can empower even more individuals to reclaim their lives.
