Story
Hi, I tut a lot. Much more than I used to. It can be a tut about the cost of chocolate digestives or the 3 hops and a swerve to the right required to avoid falling over when putting a sock on standing up. But more recently, as one reaches the, hopefully, long meandering path to God’s waiting room, it’s about people dying. Not a shock but not nice. But more recently for me, and many others, our loved ones, young and old are succumbing to various dementia related illnesses and I feel that it’s time to move on from the tutting stage.
So I plan to do the Alzheimer’s Society Trek 26, namely the 12 miles Norfolk Coast Trek on the 1st of August. As Neil Armstrong never said, it’s one small step for a small man and then one giant meandering 12 mile trudge for a grumpy pensioner . Admittedly it’s not the Matterhorn, but that can be really chilly even in August, so this will have to do. All contributions will be gratefully received, unless somebody gives me 200 quid straight off and then we can all put our feet up, but apparently, I’m told, that’s not really in the spirit of the whole thing so we’ll probably have to carry on anyway. Cheers Ian
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
Thank you for choosing to trek for Alzheimer's Society, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
