Story
Looking for a challenge to help keep me fit I decided to try to visit - over an extended period! - as many RNLI stations as I can. So far I have visited **153** out of 238: all the way, clockwise, from Liverpool to Dover and all the stations in Ireland. This has already taken me to many places I probably wouldn't otherwise have visited. Several friends have suggested that I try to raise some money for RNLI as I go.
Update: very many thanks to all who have so generously helped to reach the target so quickly. With many stations still to visit, I've raised the target to £2500: enough to fully equip a crew member.
As a sailor I'm aware that many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLI’s help. As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.
RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They’re the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators working tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.
Thank you.
