SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on stopping preventable epilepsy-related deaths. We provide the only free epilepsy bereavement service. Through research, policy and campaigns, we represent bereaved voices, raise awareness, learn from deaths and take action to save lives.

Story

On September 8th, I will begin a 14-day trek to Mount Everest Base Camp, trekking to a height of almost 18000 feet. I am doing this challenge in memory of my cousin’s son, Keenan, who tragically passed away at the age of 21 due to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy).

Keenan was a vibrant, loving, and energetic young man who lived life to the fullest. He is deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory continues to inspire us. Through ongoing fundraising efforts, we honour his legacy by supporting SUDEP Action, a charity dedicated to preventing epilepsy-related deaths.

This cause is incredibly close to my heart and every penny raised will go directly to the charity as I am self funding the trek. Please consider supporting my efforts and donate whatever you can to support this worthwhile cause.

Although most people with epilepsy live long and healthy lives, epilepsy is one of the top-ten causes of early death. At SUDEP Action, we focus our efforts on providing tools to help keep people safe and on the priorities that bereaved families tell us are important: To prevent deaths; To be supported; To be involved.

We have won national and international honours for our achievements to date, but we recognise there is much more work to do, and this is why we need your donations. With your help we can strive to make a difference.
