Ian's fundraiser for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

CALM does Snowdon at Night 2024 · 20 July 2024 to 21 July 2024 ·
Hey 👋🏻 20 years ago I lost my father to suicide. Something that had a big impact on myself and my family’s lives.
To mark this I have decided to commit to a challenge to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention. I chose CALM ( Campaign Against Living Miserably ) one of the leading charities in suicide prevention and mental health awareness. I will be hiking up Snowdon at Night on July 20th ⛰️ I will also be carrying a 20kg weighted vest to represent the hidden weight people carry around every day. The challenge over all should take around 8 - 10 hours to complete. 🥾
Suicide is the biggest killer in men under 50 and the suicide rate for young women under 25 has seen the steepest increase since records began. We all have to protect our mental health as it can affect any one of us at any time. 🧠
Every week 100’s of us are dying by suicide. CALM are trying to fight this by providing tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life - saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
For the price of a few coffee’s you could fund a potentially life saving phone call 📞
If doing this challenge leads to helping one single person it will have been a success, thank you ❤️
