Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

For a number of years now I have talked about walking my 45 mile commute to school and now seems a prudent time to do something about it.

Last summer Mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour; her determination and resilience to beat it, has been remarkable. A few years ago now I lost my lovely cousin Jan to a brain tumour and this year I lost two friends to brain tumours, Jamie & John. Jamie was my best mate at school and John was Katja’s boss and a good friend.

Stories like these are all too common, so, on June 7th I plan on walking as much of my commute as I can, in aid of Brain Tumour Research and I’m going to try to do it in a day!

Anything you can donate towards this most worthwhile of causes, will be hugely appreciated.

With heartfelt thanks,

Ian / Dad / Mr P.

Latest update:

Well, I'm pleased to say that I completed my walk yesterday (August 9th). 45.2 miles in 13 hours.

A huge thanks to everyone who supported me, to Lilia, Xara, Alicia & Katja, to Emma who joined me at some ungodly hour and to Jo who was my support vehicle.

It's not too late to donate to the cause!
