Story
We’re taking on the 4‑mile Kiltwalk to support Aberdeen Independent Multiple Sclerosis (AIMS). AIMS exists to empower people living with MS and similar neurological conditions to lead independent lives by providing accessible exercise, social connection and wellbeing support.
Although I don't have MS I have had an incomplete spinal cord injury for over 20 years. AIMS have opened their door to people with other neurological conditions so I have been able to take advantage of the Physio led weekly exercise class at Westhill.
I have found this to be of great benefit to me for my strength and balance.
Life is always challenging with a spinal cord injury and I have received a lot of help over the years from many people, not least over the last few years from the wonderful team at SPEAR Physio in Westhill who's treatment and encouragement have made it possible for me to take part in the Kiltwalks. I'm certain I wouldn't be capable of doing this without them.
This will be my eighth one and the third Time saying "Never Again"
See you all next year !!?
