Ian's story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It's a significant zero birthday for my mum, Pat Juby, in July and the amazing Team Oak Strength have devised different challenges around the theme of 70. Alongside Mum and myself there are a few Team members taking on things throughout July.
These various activities will be cumulatively taking place throughout July to raise funds for the amazing Charlies Community Support.
Charlies offer support for those affected by cancer and were instrumental in bringing positivity to my Mums own journey. We'd like to give something back.
My personal challenge will be to walk 70km (or more) over the course of July. Subsequent to a back injury in October last year, which left me unable to walk even a few steps without the use of a walking stick for support, I have been working with Emma and Team Oak Strength to rehabilitate and thanks to her amazing work I am well on my way to being stronger than ever.
This will add to;
Mum's personal challenge continuing with her strength and fitness journey. Targets will be set!
There is a Team Oak Strength weightlifting challenge to round off July on Sunday 27th, 4 hours to bench press and deadlift a huge total of kgs with any and all invited to help
James and Nathan cycling 70
Jo swimming 7miles over 7 consecutive days
Emma choosing 70 exercises and doing 70 reps of each, and maybe a few other mad challenges the team are currently setting for themselves!!
Please please please donate to this great charity and send my Mum roaring into her 70's loud and proud!
