London Marathon 2025

Ian Skellern is raising money for Queenscourt Hospice

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

This year, we have an amazing team of five runners ready to tackle the 2025 London Marathon! Each runner has their own inspiring story and motivation, but together, they share a common goal: crossing that finish line and making a difference for QCH!

Story

In October 2023, my wife of 30 years, Diane Skellern, was diagnosed with advanced Bowel Cancer which proved to be so aggressive that she sadly passed away in April 2024.

Queenscourt Hospice were with us through our horrific journey, always ensuring that Diane was consistently pain free and as comfortable as possible, despite the challenges she faced from this horrible disease.

This is my opportunity to combine my passion for running, with an opportunity to fundraise for Queenscourt Hospice, so that they continue to help people in similar circumstances.

My biggest challenge though is that I've never run a marathon before, but hopefully, your donations will help to continue to motivate me, both during the training and for each of the 26 miles on the actual day.
