Story

On 7th September 2025 I'll be taking on the challenge of the Great North Run in memory of mine and Claire's little boy Callum who passed away on 18th May 2014 from an aggressive lymphoma.

It was 14th May 2014 when tragedy struck and Callum suffered a cardiac arrest at home. His mummy desperately gave him CPR before being transferred to Derriford Hospital and then Bristol Children's Hospital where we were told that Callum had an extremely aggressive and fast growing lymphoma. Callum had shown no signs of anything so serious and only had a cough when tragedy struck. In fact he'd been to the doctors only the day before where a chest infection was diagnosed. Other than the cough, he'd been eating normally, running around playing and behaving perfectly normally. We were told the tumour probably took no more than three weeks to grow and because of its location, caused the cardiac arrest. Despite the amazing efforts of the doctors and nurses, Callum passed away in our arms on 18th May 2014. He was just 4 years and 3 months old.

Callum was such an amazing little boy who lit up a room as soon as he ran in. He was simply fantastic. To know Callum was to love Callum and we cannot put into words how much we miss him. Raising money in Callum's memory helps to give us a focus and keep his memory alive. At the same time, all money raised helps so many other sick babies and children at Bristol Children's Hospital and the amazing work that the staff do.
