Story
Hello 👋
Some of you wonderful people may have realised that I haven’t asked you for any money this year, so far…….
I’m running the York marathon on the 15th October 2023 and would like to raise a bit of money for Little Hiccups, a Leeds based children’s charity who help families of disabled children who need additional care and support. I attended a fund raising event of theirs nearly 10 years ago and still remember the families/ kids and their spirit ,facing up to challenges most of us couldn’t imagine.
Your contribution will make an impact, whether that’s £1 or £100 it will all add up.
Many thanks guys 🙏
Little Hiccup's Goals:
Little Hiccups is working hard to provide:
1) Weekly tot session for under 5's for children with special needs and disabilities. We aim to provide a place where parents/carer's can go with their children where they can relax in a safe environment and meet other families in similar circumstances.
2) A weekend activity out and about on a monthly basis for all the family (and our special children that have started school!) that cannot make the weekly session and because we recognise that the whole family is involved.
3) An Out Reach Service for those families who need more one-to-one support.
4) To hire out an All Terrain Buggy to families to enable children in wheelchairs to access the beach, the woodlands and other areas normally inaccessible to those with less mobility.
5) To provide a Counselling service for Little Hiccups parents/carers. Parents of a child with a disability or SEN are often under prolonged periods of physical and emotional stress. Research shows that parents with disabled children have higher levels of stress and lower levels of wellbeing than parents with non-disabled children.
6) With the help of funding to provide much needed Hydrotherapy services and to make them accessible to all who will benefit from them.
With your support and the money we raise we can help some very special children and their families to make memories they can treasure forever.
