Story

"Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking on a personal marathon challenge of 4 half marathons in 4 weeks with the 5th week completing a full marathon in support of The Donaldson Trust, and I am truly grateful for every person who chooses to read my story and consider making a donation.

This challenge is about more than reaching the finish line. It is about standing up for a cause that makes a meaningful difference and helping to raise vital funds for a charity whose work supports people in important and lasting ways. With a target of £1,000, I am hoping to make a positive impact through every mile completed.

Here is how the trust helps our friends little girl ❤️

Our Hans. She has the most phenomenal wee brain, the most infectious laugh and a love for this world that I’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing until we had her.

From when this wee toot was born Sandy and I have had to fight for her to be seen for her strengths and be supported with her challenges. A fight for what she was entitled to: the right health care professionals to be involved, support from services, an effective education (setting and the correct support). It was exhausting.

Then we found Donaldsons. Our lives changed: her sisters, her Dad and I and Hans. She was celebrated for being her as soon as she walked through the doors of The Sensational Learning Centre. Seen for her strengths and given all the supports to fly as high as she could. Their priority from the offset has been about her being calm, settled and valued. Our wee girl is thriving and that is massively down to Donaldsons - the love, the learning and nurture from each individual that works with her at Donaldsons is a massive part of this.

We will never take this amazing place for granted.

If you are able to help, please donate today and share this page with others who may wish to support The Donaldson Trust. Your generosity will help move this challenge closer to its goal and show what can be achieved when a community comes together with kindness and purpose."
