Story
Be there for people facing homelessness
We are really excited to be running together in the iconic London Marathon on April 27th. We have both taken part previously as solo runners, Ian in 2019 and Jennifer in 2021 but this is the first time we will be attempting a full marathon as a duo.
We are taking the opportunity to once again raise funds for Crisis, the homelessness charity. Homelessness is an issue we both care passionately about.
Ian says "I count my blessings daily to have a wonderful partner, a loving and supportive family and a safe and secure home. Sadly not everyone is so fortunate and many people find themselves homeless due to issues such as poverty, losing a job, physical and mental illness and addiction. Crisis provides the emotional and practical support to help individuals who are experiencing homelessness"
Jennifer says "A stable home is the secure base from which we build our lives and is our sanctuary in difficult times. We all face problems in the course of our lives; sadly, some people will face the terrifying threat of homelessness or the vulnerability of rough sleeping, and it can happen to any one of us. I wholeheartedly support Crisis because they provide critical assistance where needed and enable people to rebuild their lives. I am so delighted to be taking part in the London Marathon, running alongside my fabulous brother and doing what we can to support this amazing organisation."
Your help is greatly appreciated and we will keep you updated with our progress. With a combined age of 129 we won't be looking to break any records but your support and generosity to Crisis will spur us on to the finish line. XX
