Ian Caws fundraiser for The Poetry Society

Helen Goodwin is raising money for The Poetry Society
In memory of Ian Caws
Founded in 1909, The Poetry Society is the leading voice for poets and poetry in the UK. We champion poetry for all ages, developing generations of new writers through our magazine The Poetry Review, talent development schemes, commissions, and innovative work with schools and young people.

Story

After putting up a very good fight, we sadly lost our Dad at the end of last month. As many of you will know, he was a poet throughout his life and relished the beauty of language and the power of the written word — whether through a line of verse, a shared story, or a play on words. Our family's life has always been framed by his passion for poetry and the arts as a whole and we know that he would want to inspire and support upcoming poets to carry on this tradition.

To honour his life, we would appreciate any donations being shared with the Poetry Society, a fitting tribute that celebrates his love of words, creativity, and the poetry community.

Through this fund, we hope to continue his legacy by supporting:

• Poetry workshops for young writers and local schools

• Creative writing events that bring communities together

• Prizes or grants for emerging poets who share Ian’s passion for language and life.
