Story
I'm running the 2026 London Marathon for Royal Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity — and I would appreciate and be very grateful for your support.
On Sunday, 26th April 2026, I’ll be taking on all 26.2 miles of the London Marathon to raise vital funds for Neo Natal Intensive Care (NICU) and Gynaecology services at Royal Derby and Burton Hospitals.
These departments support some of the most vulnerable individuals — from the tiniest, most fragile newborns fighting for their lives, to women navigating some of the most challenging moments in their health journeys.
- NICU provides life-saving care to premature and critically ill babies, while offering strength and comfort to families facing the unimaginable.
- Gynaecology services are there for women through every stage of life — from early pregnancy, baby loss, infertility and cancer care.
The numbers speak for themselves:
- 1 in 7 couples will struggle with fertility
- 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage before 12 weeks
- 1 in 3 women experience gynaecological or reproductive health issues
- 2 in 5 NICU parents suffer from PTSD
These services rely on donations to go beyond the basics — upgrading essential equipment, enhancing staff and family facilities, funding specialist training, and creating calmer, more supportive environments during the hardest of times.
I’m running for the ladies and babies I’m lucky to know and love — inspired by their strength, and grateful for the NHS teams who care for them with such dedication.
Please donate if you can. Every mile I run, and every pound you give, will help change lives.
Together, we can make a difference. 💙
