Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

In 2026, I’ll be taking on one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world - IRONMAN Wales.

That means a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a full marathon… all in one day.

This will be my first full IRONMAN, and without a doubt, the biggest physical and mental challenge I’ve ever taken on.

But this is about more than just the race. I’m doing it in support of Brain Tumour Research, a cause that desperately needs more awareness and funding.

My motivation for taking this on: I want to push my limits and find out what I’m truly capable of.

I want to prove to myself that when I fully commit to something, I can come out the other side stronger.

This race has also been a long time coming. Growing up, I watched my dad take on this exact challenge. I still remember the goosebumps at the start line and the overwhelming sense of pride at the finish. It’s something that’s stayed with me ever since and now, it’s my turn to step up to that same start line.

I played rugby for 15 years, but an injury at university ruled me out for a season. What started as a way to stay fit, getting on a bike, quickly turned into something much bigger.

At the end of 2023, I signed up for my first endurance race: IRONMAN Zell am See-Kaprun 70.3 in September 2024. That race reignited something in me, and I was completely hooked.

The experience was unforgettable. The support, the beauty of the course, and the raw emotion of pushing yourself to your limits is hard to describe, but from the moment I’d recovered, I knew one thing: I wanted more.

So now, I’m all in.

Between now and September 13th 2026, I’ll be training, improving, and pushing myself further than I ever have before. There will no doubt be tough days (probably a lot of them), but knowing I’m doing this for something bigger will keep me going.

An IRONMAN might be an individual event, but getting to that start line is far from a one-person job.

The people around me - my girlfriend, my family, my friends (& Sion and his time), are a huge part of this. The early mornings, the long days, the constant training… it all adds up, and their support makes it possible. Whether it’s the encouragement when things get tough, the patience when training takes priority, or having a meal ready after a long day.

I’m incredibly grateful to have people around me who show up and support me the way they do, it would be a whole lot harder without them.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of national cancer research funding is allocated to them. Brain Tumour Research is working to change that, funding vital research and pushing for better outcomes for patients and families affected.

If you’re able to support me, any donation, big or small, would mean so much.

And if you can’t donate, even sharing this page helps massively.

This is going to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done… but also one of the most meaningful.

Thank you for being part of the journey. Bring on September 13th🐉
