Story
One thing that people definitely know about me is that I don't know how to run. HOWEVER. Recently I got into a β¨health and mental - wellbeing journeyβ¨ (you can call it age crisis, idc) and amongst other things I started... Trying? ππ»
I needed an external motivator (because self inflicted self-discipline is not something I am acquainted to in the 31 years I'm alive so far), so I signed up for RED RUN in November for the sake of π π»accountabilityπ π» to my running journey.
There were so many amazing LGBTQ+ charities to support, but elop is really close to my heart as I recently finished my Foundation Certificate in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counselling Skills through their programme, and I also admire all the work they've been doing for some time. π
So! To the important details:
ππ» π³οΈβπ I'm doing the Red Run 2024 for World AIDS Day to raise money for elop. π³οΈβπππ»
It is run to unite the HIV sector, creating a platform for HIV organisations across the country to raise awareness and vital funds for their work.
Whilst elop isn't solely a HIV charity, it supports many people who are HIV positive and supports others to make safe choices about their sexual health.
You cannot support LGBT+ mental health without supporting sexual health and those impacted by HIV and AIDS.
Your support will support elop to continue to provide our much needed services to support all those that need sexual health support and mental health support to be able to have the confidence and self-worth to take charge of their sexual health.
