Story
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh,
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"He is not a Muslim who goes to bed satiated while his neighbor goes hungry."
"Jibril kept recommending treating neighbours with kindness until I thought he would assign a share of inheritance."
Ramadan reminds us to reflect on our blessings and support those struggling silently around us. Many families in London are facing extreme hardship, and your support can make a real difference.
Some facts about poverty in our communities:
1. 1 in 5 people in the UK live in poverty.
2. 26% of London residents struggle to meet basic needs.
3. Half of Muslim households in the UK live in poverty — nearly three times higher than the national average.
4. Many rely on food banks, debt, or the kindness of strangers.
5. 39% of Muslims live in the most deprived areas.
Families supported by Subulus Salaam include single mothers, asylum seekers, and elderly with no family. Most receive no benefits, cannot work, and have no support networks, and they are trapped in unbearable circumstance, not by choice.
Subulus Salaam is 100% volunteer-run, distributing Zakat, Sadaqah, and Zakat al-Fitr as food. Around 130 families rely on this support.
With your help, I hope to reach 50–100 families, addressing their urgent needs. Even £50 can provide food, warmth, and dignity, and your donation, no matter how much, will have direct impact.
Important points:
1. All beneficiaries are Zakat-eligible.
2. Donations help low-income families, refugees, asylum seekers, and the elderly.
3.The charity has a 100% donation policy.
4. Contributions to administration costs are also helpful.
Please indicate in the notes if your donation is specifically for Zakat or admin costs.
Please consider supporting this page this Ramadan, and please share widely.
May Allah accept your charity, ease the hardship of those in need, and reward you abundantly. Ameen 🤲🏾
