Story
WE DID IT! All riders complete the course successfully. Please show the riders, ans most importantly Seafarers, your support!
Once again this year, a team of IMO delegates and Secretariat staff will conduct a 100K cycle ride around Richmond Park, and remotely from other parts of the world, to support seafarer's welfare. The COVID-19 pandemic, the situation in Ukraine in the Red Sea and other impacts on shipping have dramatically affected the lives of seafarers around the globe. They need the support that charities such as the Mission to Seafarers can provide. Now in its 5th year, the Team IMO Cycle for Seafarers has become a very successful event - let's keep it going this year!
This years ride will occur on Saturday, May 18th, i.e., the middle Saturday of the IMO's Maritime Safety Committee meeting Team IMO draws riders from the IMO Member States, the Secretariat, Inter-governmental Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations. This year's team includes: Damien Chevalier, Hassam Emara, George Purcell, Ocean Fay, Simone Mamini, and Will Griffiths (IMO Secretariat), Geoff Guy, Graeme Morkel, and Frank McNulty (Bahamas), Marcelo Gonzalez (Chile), Astrid Rivas (El Savador), Eric and Valerie Levert (France), Mark Gebauer (Germany), Ian Lancaster (New Zealand), Giacomo Guibilini (Italy), Anays Berrocal (Panama), Jose Regalado (Peru), Carlos Sequeira (Portugal), Khalid Al-Bakri (Qatar), Fred Kenney (CLIA), Chris Trelawny (Interportpolice), Bruce Anderson (IAPH), Phil Belcher (Intertanko), Unni Einemo (WNTI), and Vivien Deloge (PEW Charitable Trust) If you would like to participate as a rider, contact Fred Kenney at fkenney@cruising.org . If you'd like to come out on May 18th and cheer the Team on, it is a lovely day in the park.
But most importantly, please give generously. Our seafarers need the support the Mission to Seafarers provides. And the Mission needs your support.
