Story

In September 2024, my dad, Mark Edmonds, died after a terminal pancreatic cancer diagnosis. He was staying at St John’s Hospice, a stone's throw away from Abbey Road (fitting for a mega Beatles fan).

Hospice care is something I only now realise the importance of. I am grateful to the staff who provided such good care to my dad in his final few days and supported my family through this terribly sad experience. The hospice was a peaceful place allowing family and friends to say a proper goodbye, and I can't imagine what it would have been like if we did not get this opportunity. Throughout my dad’s cancer diagnosis, he was incredibly brave and resilient, and so I want to challenge myself, make him proud, and raise money for a great cause.

Coincidentally, the half marathon is taking place on what would be my dad’s 64th birthday. The last time I attempted a half marathon was in May 2023 and I collapsed at Mile 11, ending in hospital, so let's hope this one goes better!

Any donation, big or small, is so appreciated <3
