We are raising money for Barnsley Hospice in loving memory of Jacque Pollard - a beloved wife, mum, sister, grandma, auntie and friend.

In December 2025, Jacque was diagnosed with cancer and we were heartbroken to learn it was unfortunately not treatable.

Thankfully, a place became available at Barnsley Hospice, where Jacque was cared for with such compassion, dignity and kindness in her final days, before peacefully passing away on 4 February 2026. The love, support and care shown by the hospice team to both Jacque and our family during this difficult time is something we will always remember and be grateful for.

Jacque brought sunshine, laughter and love into so many people’s lives. She had a way of making everyone feel cared for, and her warmth touched so many around her. She played such an important role in all our lives and losing her has left a space that can never truly be filled. She is missed every single day.

In Jacque’s memory, we want to do something positive and give back to the hospice that cared for her so wonderfully. Barnsley Hospice provide specialist palliative and end of life care, relying heavily on donations to continue providing its care and support to local families. We feel incredibly fortunate that Jacque was able to access this support, and we hope to help ensure other families can receive the same compassion and dignity when they need it most.

Over the coming months, members of Jacque’s family will be taking part in a series of fundraising challenges, including:

• 20 April: Lake District Fleetwith Pike & Haystacks hike (8.5 miles)

• 17 May: Penistone Boundary Walk (16 miles)

• 31 May: Manchester Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

• June: Edale Skyline (20 miles)

• August: Yorkshire Three Peaks (24 miles)

• 13 September: Great North Run (13.1miles)

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to us and will help Barnsley Hospice continue the amazing work they do for families across our community.
