In loving memory of Jude MacDonald (19 October 2006 – 01 January 2023), this memorial fund has been created by his family to support Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in reducing the number of young sudden cardiac deaths. Jude was a kind, gentle, and joyful young man who loved gaming, football, and spending time with his friends and family. His unexpected passing from a rare heart condition at just 16 has left an unimaginable void.
Through this fund, we aim to provide free cardiac screenings for young people aged 14–35 in Westhill and across Aberdeen and the Shire, helping to detect hidden heart conditions and save lives in Jude’s name.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
