Our mum, Nell, passed away peacefully at home on 8 October after a five-year battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her family.

Nell was known for her kindness, warmth, and generosity - always welcoming people in, cooking for others, and giving her time and care to anyone who needed it. All she ever wanted in return was respect and love, two things she gave freely every day.

Even through her illness, Mum stayed strong and positive, still smiling, laughing, and showing the same spirit that made her so loved by everyone around her. She was a mum and Lola (grandma) to everyone, and her friendship meant the world to so many.

Before mum passed, she said she wanted to help others facing cancer, and she hoped to support Cancer Research UK. We’re raising funds in her memory to continue that wish, and to help others get more time with the people they love.
