our story

My incredible little brother was diagnosed with stomach cancer in Feb 2023 at the young age of 18. He was booked in to have his stomach removed a few months later but when he went down and they started the operation, they discovered that his his cancer had spread and they couldn’t operate any longer. We hoped that there would be other treatments but we got the news no family should ever receive and were told that there was nothing they could do and his cancer was terminal.

We as a family then made sure he had the best few months ahead and made so many incredible memories with him. He was so brave throughout and continued smiling right until the end.

Sebby sadly lost his battle to cancer on 30th November 2023 at the age of 19. We are now setting ourselves a challenge and will be walking 100km continuous across the Jurassic coast to raise money for young lives vs cancer. An incredible charity who support children and their families who are affected by this horrific disease.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to .

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you.
