Story
Imagine a group of cats, caught in a dangerous situation, relying on the kindness of a local resident to survive. These aren’t your average cats, they’re "inbetweeners," cats who are very wary of humans and prefer to live separately while still reliant on them for food. They currently call home a stretch of waste ground in Southeast London, where a compassionate neighbour feeds them daily. They are completely dependent on her for food and care.
But now, everything is changing. The very land they call home is being marked for development, and soon, their only food source will be gone. These cats can’t wait for the future they need our help now.
This is where our amazing team of volunteers have stepped in. We’ve already carried out a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program with these cats, and now we need to trap them again – this time to ensure these cats are safely relocated, with the hope of providing them with a safer, more sustainable environment. But we need your support to make this happen.
Your generous donation will help us move these cats to a safer place, away from the danger of busy roads and the uncertainty of their future. With your help, we can ensure that these inbetweeners will no longer have to rely on a temporary and unsafe feeding source, and we can give them the chance to live in a place where they can thrive.
What are inbetweener cats?
Inbetweener cats have had limited exposure to humans as kittens, making them wary and cautious around people. They are happiest living more independently than pet cats. Their ideal home is somewhere where they can live outdoors but are still fed and cared for. They might approach their carers for food but often prefer to keep their distance and usually do not enjoy being touched or handled.
How Your Donations Will Help
• We need to purchase a new trap which is of a completely different design to our existing traps. As we’ve previously trapped the cats for neutering, many of them are understandably reluctant to venture inside the same trap for a second time. They will be much less wary of a new trap.
• We will need to provide several temporary relocation pens.
• Any additional donations will go towards their ongoing care until we are able to find them a place to live and it will raise awareness of the ongoing issues of neutering and breeding that lead to unnecessary suffering.
We’re incredibly grateful for any support you can offer. Every pound brings us closer to giving these cats the care they deserve. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness! ❤️
